Particle Measuring Systems (PMS) announced that it would be relocating its corporate headquarters from Airport Blvd. in Boulder, Col., to the Boulder Technology Center in Niwot, Col., on June 1, 2022. The company’s new base of operations is 124,000 ft2, more than twice as large as its current HQ, allowing it to house the manufacturing and business operations previously located in Boulder.

“This is a unique opportunity for us to design a space that accommodates the needs of all our employees while creating a positive customer and employee experience. This is a long-term strategic project for PMS and demonstrates significant capital investment by our parent company, Spectris. We are targeting operational occupancy of the building in early 2024,” said John Mitchell, president, PMS, in a company press release. “The vision for our new PMS HQ is to create an engaging, inclusive, and welcoming workplace with employees and customers in mind.”

Particle Measuring Systems to Relocate Corporate Headquarters

Cambrex announced on June 1, 2022 that it had acquired Q1 Scientific, an Irish provider of environmentally-controlled current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) stability storage services for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and life science industries.

According to a company press release, Q1’s Scientific's cGMP facility is validated to meet specific storage requirements for the International Conference on Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human (ICH). The 20,000 ft² facility has approximately 40 walk-in stability storage chambers, reach-in freezers, and stability units, as well as ultra-low temperature freezers for biologic therapies. In addition to these storage capabilities, the company also provides sample management and transport services.

“Stability storage and testing is a critical component of drug development and commercialization of new therapies.,” said Tom Loewald, CEO, Cambrex, in the press release. “This acquisition is a natural extension of our current offerings that will broaden and increase our expertise in this critical area, as well as our footprint in the European market.”

Standard Biotools Hyperion+ Spatial Imaging System

Standard BioTools Hyperion+ Imaging System is a high-plex spatial imaging system that builds on the capabilities of its predecessor. Relative to the original Hyperion Imaging System, the Hyperion+ provides lower limits of detection, improved sample capacity, and quicker time to results.

The system can process more than 100 samples per week, approximately twice the speed of their current model. It also has a 1.6x lower limit of detection, enabling detection of dim markers. The device allows for scanning of eight to over 40 targets in a single run and can easily be scaled to more than 100 targets. Additionally, by using an efficient, simple stain, image, and analyze workflow, it reduces expenses up to 10x relative to immunohistochemistry.

AMETEK Haydon Kerk Pittman has released a 57mm size in its IDEA Motor series, joining the existing 42mm model. The IDEA Motor series combines a precision brushless servo motor with an IDEA Drive controller to reduce design time, wiring needs, and overall cabinet space. Its programmable drive is specifically designed for real-time, embedded motion control, making it suitable for autonomous and precise single- axis motion.

The IDEA Motor series is a pre-engineered, factory-configured and -tested servo system that allows customers to develop, save, and debug complex and precise motion sequences. As an integrated package, it saves components, money, and space relative to the traditional DC motor, external drive, encoder, and cables setup.
