Spectrum Chemical will provide BASF precious-metal-containing powder catalysts in research quantities for early product development.
On Nov. 14, 2017, Spectrum Chemical, a US-based chemical manufacturer and distributor, announced that it entered an agreement with BASF, a producer and marketer of chemicals, to provide precious-metal-containing powder catalysts in research quantities to the North American market. According to Spectrum Chemical, this agreement will enable the speed up of commercialization and scale-up production by expanding access to smaller quantities of catalysts needed for early product development.
“We are excited to add these proven catalysts to our industry-leading chemistry portfolio,” said Randy Burg, president and CEO of Spectrum. “Our broad network of customers will receive access to products from the global leader in catalysts, but in the smaller quantities they need for early product development throughout North America.”
Under the agreement, Spectrum will offer 26 BASF catalysts containing precious metals including palladium, platinum, rhodium, and ruthenium, with carriers of carbon, alumina, and calcium carbonate.
