In 2009, the International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council (IPEC) introduced an Excipient Information Package (1) that includes a product requirement datasheet, site quality overview, and site and supply chain security overview, providing a standard format and consistency across suppliers and product lines.“It can save the time usually wasted tracking down individual supplier questionnaires,” said IPEC Chair Priscilla Zawislak in a September 20, 2016 webcast hosted by Pharmaceutical Technology (2). IPEC also offers quality agreement templates (3) for pharmaceutical manufacturers and excipient suppliers and distributors, and will add templates for manufacturer agreements with both distributors and original manufacturers.
