Artisan Industries’ Rototherm Mini is a continuous lab-scale evaporator and dryer. Utilizing the same thin-film separation technology as the company’s production-scale evaporators, the mini is designed for continuous evaporation and liquid-to-powder drying of heat sensitive materials. The device has a 5 mL/min–50 mL/min feed rate and a maximum operating temperature of 450 °F.

The mini features a high-speed rotor that uses centrifugal force to create an agitated thin film. Relative to traditional wiped-film evaporators, this enables the processing of viscous or foaming liquids and slurries. The stainless-steel, fixed-clearance rotator is designed for easier cleaning.

Additionally, the device has a horizontal orientation, allowing researchers complete control over residence time. This capability is intended to enable liquid-to-powder drying in a single pass and improve product yield.

Polyplus’ LipidBrick IM21.7 is a novel cationic lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation for messenger RNA therapeutic and vaccine development. The formulation is designed to expand the scope of LNP usage in various therapeutic and oncology applications, as well as prophylactic vaccines.

The LipidBrick is designed to overcome current-generation ionizable lipid challenges used in current LNPs by enabling a wider

 biodistribution and decreasing accumulation in the liver. Proof of concept work demonstrated that it successfully modulates the overall charge of LNPs, improving drug efficiency and formulation stability with no additional safety concerns.

Polyplus’ LipidBrick IM21.7 is designed to expand the scope of LNP usage in various therapeutic and oncology applications. 

LNP Formulation for mRNA Therapies

Customized for shear-sensitive applications with low to medium viscosity, the ROSS Model CDA-200 features a two-wing anchor agitator and two medium-speed agitators, each fit with five rows of three-blade pitched turbines. The mixer was supplied with two portable stainless-steel mixing vessels and transport covers for semi-continuous operation, a four-gallon charging hopper for introducing ingredients to the batch, and a thermoprobe for accurate temperature readings.

All three agitators are driven independently by explosion-proof inverter-duty motors. The two-wing anchor includes Teflon scrapers that contact the jacketed sidewall and bottom surfaces. Double FlexiLip seals and silicone O-rings enable vacuum operation up to 29.5 Hg for creating air-free pastes, slurries, gels, and suspensions.

Designed for heavy-duty use, the ROSS line of Multi Shaft Mixers standardizes on precision bearings with large bearing spans that reduce agitator shaft deflection and vibration, contributing to the quality and longevity of these machines. With no bearings and seals in the product zone, ROSS Multi-Shaft Mixers are designed to offer better protection against contamination compared to other designs with bottom-entering agitators

Bio-Rad Laboratories StarBright Blue and StarBright Yellow Dyes

Bio-Rad Laboratories StarBright Blue and StarBright Yellow dyes are designed to promote flexibility in conventional and full spectrum flow cytometry applications. Dyes in the Starbright series are conjugated to flow validated antibodies, supporting flow cytometry panel design in immunology design.

The two variations in the Starbright series are intended to expand research capabilities across blue (488 nanometers) and yellow (561 nanometers) lasers. The dyes are designed to offer exceptional brightness in conjunction with narrow excitation and emission profiles, allowing for precise resolution.

StarBright dyes are compatible with most experimental protocols and flow cytometers without the need for special buffers. Telesis Bio’s BioXp Select mRNA Synthesis Kit

Telesis Bio’s BioXp Select mRNA Synthesis Kit enables on-demand, automated synthesis of messenger RNA (mRNA). Beginning from the user’s plasmid DNA, the kit can deliver results overnight, enabling researchers to optimize discovery workflows more quickly.

Building on the company’s prior mRNA synthesis kit, which builds mRNA up to 1.8 kb in length starting from a DNA sequence as input, the new kit allows users to enter the sequence or linearized plasmid. This automates the entire workflow, allowing users to generate the final synthetic mRNA product in hours. The product also provides options for modified nucleosides.
